The Estates at Acqualina, a two tower condo project developed adjacent to Sunny Isles Beach’s Acqualina Resort & Spa, has recently revealed Karl Lagerfeld’s rendering of his lobby design of the South Tower, also known as 777 Via Acqualina. This project is scheduled to be completed in 2020. The Estates at Acqualina is the first condominium project to involve the world-renowned designer. An affiliate of the Trump Group, GSF Acquisition, is the developer and owner of the community.
As reported in a recent issue of Multi-Housing News, Karl Lagerfeld’s vision merges both classical architecture and contemporary art. For the South Tower, photographs of Roman arches and fountains, taken by Lagerfeld himself, will be etched into the wall panels, ceiling screens and skylights. Along with a working fountain at the center of the lobby, these images are meant to complement the oceanfront views that surround The Estates. A second tower, The North Tower, is also part of the project and will feature a Karl Lagerfeld design, as well.
In prepared remarks, Lagerfeld suggested that “Lobbies serve two purposes – they are the first impression of the building and a common living room for socializing.”
Jules Trump, no relation to the incoming president, is the developer of The Estates at Acqualina. He maintains that the lobbies “will ‘set the stage’ for the most prestigious and fashionable address in America. You will find precious and rare materials, delicate craftsmanship, unerringly and sophisticated style. You’ll also find unexpected and whimsical details that bring a frisson of excitement and delight.” One of Lagerfeld’s supreme talents, he goes on to say, is “knowing how to create in a way that is both timeless and of-the-moment all at once.”
Construction of the Estates will take place in two phases beginning late 2017. The 152-unit South Tower and Villa Acqualina, a 45,000 square foot residents-only community, will be completed during the first phase. Villa Acqualina includes a Circus Maximus, a bowling alley, spa and fitness center, as well as a restaurant with unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean. The North Tower, also known as 888 Via Acqualina, will be constructed during the second phase and will offer just 92 units. Each condo will be delivered furniture-ready and equipped with state of the art appliances, imported stone countertops, smart home technology and soaring ceilings.
Prices of The Estates at Acqualina residences will range from $3.8 million to $9.5 million and may reach as high as $29 million for penthouses.
